1: If EML File Supported Email Clients are Available in your System:
If you are using any EML file-supported email client; like – Windows Live Mail, Windows Mail, Mozilla Thunderbird, Zoho mail, Zimbra, etc. and you want to move all related email client emails to Gmail, follow all below-listed steps one by one:
A: Manage and Enable Settings in Gmail Account:
Before adding a Gmail account in EML file-supported email clients, users have to do some setups in Gmail, for this:
Enable IMAP or POP setting in Gmail:
- Go to your Gmail account >> Gear icon >> See All settings.
- Select forwarding and IMAP/POP >> Enable IMAP or PPN and Click on the Save button.
Generate App Password:
- Click on your Gmail account logo >> manage your Gmail account.
- Go to Security >> in the Signing in to Google section; click on two-step verification.
- Hit on Get Started >> login your ID >> Put your Mobile No. >> Select text message and click on Next.
- Now fill OTP >> go to next >> click on the Turn ON option.
- Now in the Signing in to Google section of Security click on App password.
- After that Select App part >> choose Other (Custom Name) >> Provide email client name.
- Click on Generate button >> Now copy the App Password and save in securely.
B: Add Gmail Account in your Email Account:
It is not possible to share the configuration process of Gmail account in all EML file-supported email clients. However, the process of adding Gmail accounts is almost the same in different email clients. Here I will share Gmail account configuration process in the Thunderbird email client, using this you can add your Gmail account in other email clients.
- Open Mozilla Thunderbird >> Click on Tools >> Select account setting.
- Now a new Window Account Settings Will be appeared >> In below click on Add Action and choose Mail account.
- Put you Name, Email ID, and App Password >> Press Continue button.
- Now chose IMAP or POP which you re enable in Gmail account setting.
- Hit on create account and again click on OK button.
- Now all your emails are automatically loaded in Thunderbird.
Note: In some email clients users are required to put Incoming and Outgoing server details. For that.
Incoming Mail Server details: IMAP: imap.gmail.com, POP: pop.gmail.com, and Port No (IMAP: 993 POP: 995) [require SSL]
Outgoing Mail Server Details: IMAP and POP: smtp.gmail.com and Port No. (IMAP and POP: 465 or 587) [requires TLS]
C: Drag and Drop Emails
Now After adding Gmail account in Thunderbird users uses have to go in that email account which emails users want to move in Gmail account.
- Use Ctrl + A to select all emails from your folder.
- Now using the drag and drop method move all emails in which Gmail mailbox folder you want to move.
- Follow this process till the process is not over.
2: Only EML Files are Available in your System:
